Abstract: The Classical texts of Tamil such as Tholkappiyam, Sangam Literatures, Pathinen Keezhkanaku etc. have been read by many people at various stages since they were created. It can be seen that these poems were not compiled but selected during the period of the compilers. Changes in the internal and external construction of language occurred with the change of time. Due to this, the medieval people had many problems in understanding these texts. The commentator tradition emerged as a solution to this dilemma. The printing tradition that developed in the nineteenth century produced these copies that were passed down the trail and made them available to us. At the same time as the Tholkapiyam texts were published, the Pathinen keezhkanakku texts also began to be printed. These resulted in major changes to the edition and research platforms. Results found from the Textual citations and commentory notes on Tholkappiyam, changes in the edition of Ainthinai ezhupadhu by the textual citation on Tholkappiyam and the changes in the textual citations on Tholkappiyam by the editions of Ainthinai ezhupadhu are examined in this article.
