குறுநில மன்னா்களின் பொருளாதாரநிலை

Abstract

The economic status of a country depends on its resources. During the Sangam period, agriculture was the primary industry. The main duty of the kings was to improve it through technology and lead the country to the path of development. The king should take many steps to increase the country's income by improving agriculture and by bartering with other landowners. Only then will the income of a country increase and the economic status improve. The small-scale kings were distinguished by the resources available in the Kurinji land such as mineral resources and value-added products. Due to this, they were also economically advanced. The purpose of this article is to examine the economic status of such small-scale kings.

ஒரு நாட்டின் வளத்தினை பொருத்தே அதனுடைய பொருளாதார நிலை அமைகின்றது.  சங்க காலத்தில் வேளாண்மையே முதன்மைத்  தொழிலாக இருந்துள்ளது.   தொழில்நுட்பங்கள் மூலம்  அதனை மேம்படுத்தி நாட்டினை வளர்ச்சி பாதைக்கு இட்டுச் செல்வதே மன்னர்களின் முக்கிய கடமையாகும்.  வேளாண்மையினை மேம்படுத்தியும் பிற நிலத்து  மக்களுடன் பண்டமாற்று வாணிபம் செய்வதன் மூலமாகவும் நாட்டின் வருவாயினை பெருக்க மன்னன் பல நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுக்க வேண்டும். அப்பொழுதே ஒரு நாட்டின் வருவாய் உயர்ந்து பொருளாதார நிலையில் மேம்பட்டு விளங்கும். குறுநில மன்னர்கள் குறிஞ்சி நிலத்தில்  கிடைக்கக்கூடிய கனிம வளங்கள் மதிப்புக்கூட்டு பொருட்கள் போன்ற வள ஆதாரங்களை கொண்டு சிறப்புடன் விளங்கினர். இதனால் பொருளாதாரத்திலும் மேம்பட்டு விளங்கி இருந்தனர்.   அத்தகைய குறுநில மன்னர்களின் பொருளாதார நிலையினை ஆராய்வதே இக்கட்டுரையின் நோக்கமாகும்.
