Abstract

A government is an organization established to maintain social order and regulate people. Religious and moral law books explain the nature of governance, its ethics, and the roles of the king, ministers, soldiers, ambassadors, and spies. The king has primary responsibility for the welfare of the country, and the nation’s prosperity or suffering depends on his virtue and valor. The king is considered supreme, sometimes even more powerful than the deity, as expressed in traditional sayings.
