Abstract

Tamil Nadu’s export-import trade during the Sangam and medieval periods, highlighting maritime connections with Sri Lanka, Rome, and Southeast Asia. Exports included pepper, cardamom, pearls, textiles, iron, and precious stones, while imports comprised wine, glassware, silver, paper, and luxury fabrics. Archaeological excavations, inscriptions, coins, and literary references confirm these exchanges, reflecting both economic and cultural influence..
