Abstract

SYNOPSIS: ‘Tolkappiyam’ AD. If we understand it as the sixth century, then the antiquity of the drama should be moved even before that. In that way, the legacy of Aristotle’s dramatic thinking has emerged among the Tamils. Evidence of that can be seen in the ‘Tolkappiyam’ and the’ sangam literature’.  The emergence of solo songs also occurs in front of the story – tellers such as ‘thalaivan’, ‘thalaivi’ and ‘thozhi’, ‘sevili natrraai’, ‘kandor’, ‘kettoor’. Performance art is a form of staging based on a story. Therefore, performing arts can be divided into the domains of ‘kalatsepam’, preaching, Drama, conducting musical concerts and folk art Forms based on temple rituals. Although the Elements of all such forms of performance have been discussed, we will only look here at how they can be approached in ‘paripaadal’ as a Dramatization.
