Abstract

The physiological concepts in the Thirumanthiram are found to be in line with modern scientific studies. The pre-embryonic state of the embryo, the sperm traveling towards the uterus, reaching the uterus, and the cell divisions that occur in the embryo during the embryonic stage are clearly mentioned in the songs of Thirumoolar. Furthermore, the idea that the sex of the developing fetus cannot be determined by the female chromosome alone is explained. Thirumoolar explains the method and duration of breathing exercises. When the body stores too much oxygen, the oxygen level in the blood increases, which has various benefits for the body. It is said that the body can be numbed through meditation. The changes that occur in our body due to urine medicine are also explained.

திருமந்திரத்தில் காணப்படும்  உடல் சார்ந்த கருத்துகள் நவீன அறிவியல் ஆய்வுகளுடன் பொருந்தும் விதமாகக் காணப்படுகிறது. திருமூலர் பாடல்களில் கருவளர்ச்சிக்கு முந்தைய கருவின் நிலை, விந்தணு அண்டத்தை நோக்கி பயணித்தல், அண்டத்தை அடைதல், கருவளர்ச்சி நிலையில் கருவில் நடைபெறும் செல்பகுப்புகள் தெளிவாகக் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும் கருவில் வளரும் குழ்ந்தையின் பாலினத்தைப் பெண்களால் தீர்மானிக்க முடியாது என்கிற கருத்து விளக்கப்படுகிறது. மூச்சுப்பயிற்சி செய்யும் முறை, கால அளவுகளை திருமூலர் விளக்குகிறார்.  உயிர்வளியான ஆக்சிஜனை அளவுக்கு அதிகமாக உடலுக்குள் தேக்கி வைக்கும் பொழுது இரத்தத்தில் ஆக்சிஜன் அளவு அதிகரிப்பதால் உடலில் பல்வேறு நன்மைகள் ஏற்படுகின்றன. தியானத்தின் மூலம் உடலை மரத்து போகச்செய்யமுடியும் என்கிற கருத்து கூறப்படுகிறது. சிறுநீர் மருத்துவம் குறித்தும் சிறுநீர் மருத்துவத்தால் நம் உடலில் ஏற்படும் மாற்றங்கள் குறித்து விளக்கப்படுகிறது.
