Abstract

In Sangam Literature, Nattrinai is one of the collection of Poems. In Nattrinai totally 400 poems are there but 54 poems poet names are unknown. This articles explored the personality of the poets(54 poems) in two Stages, namely the purpose of the poets the knowing the personality and their methed of knowing the personality. The personality traits of the poets   have been compared with the opinions of Scholars about  their personality. It can be seen that the poets have adapted the general tradition of Sangam literature by adopting the techniques of illustration, metaphor, intonation to express the idea of the song. Comparing the personality traits of the  Nattrinai  poets Anonymous with the views of scholars on personality, the majority found that their personality traits matched with the views of the scholars.
