Abstract

Traditional puppetry holds a distinctive place among the performing arts of Sri Lanka. It is a theatrical art form that integrates folk life, religious beliefs, social values, and entertainment. Shaped by cultural influences from the Indian subcontinent and enriched by local traditions, Sri Lankan puppetry has evolved into a unique artistic practice.
