Folklore is one of the growing fields in Tamil Nadu. Living literature is the innumerable unwritten literature that people have been praising and preserving orally. Folk songs are very old. Chief among the rural arts. It is the rhetoric that these folk songs are composed by the common people that gives us pleasure. Folk songs are a clear and unadulterated representation of the ancient art, culture, character, tradition, life, development and mass of a country. These songs, which live in the language of the villagers, in stories, in festivals and entertainment, are an expression of the people's desire, hope, dream, love, disappointment and loss, and they highlight their joys and sorrows in the form of fun games. Birth, childhood events, love games, Oppari etc. are the subjects of these songs. Among them, this article examines only Kulathur regional oppari songs.
