Abstract

Palandamis lived in harmony with nature. They divided the land they lived in into five parts and named the land after the best plant in that land. They are Kurinji, Mullai, Marutham, Neithal and Balai. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the plant species found in these five types of land. They are the basic source of all life on earth. It is plants that provide the three basic needs of man - food, clothing and shelter. The stories about plants, vines, flowers, trees etc. that were used in life are proof of the perceptive nature of the ancient poets. This article explains the messages about flowers among them...
