Abstract

Business Management is generally perceived as a modern academic discipline; however, its foundational principles such as planning, leadership, decision-making, communication, ethics, and sustainability are deeply embedded in classical Tamil literature. Works like Sangam poetry, Thirukkural, Silappadikaram, and Kambaramayanam contain profound managerial wisdom expressed through literary narratives and ethical aphorisms. This paper analyzes selected Tamil literary texts with direct textual evidence to demonstrate how ancient literary thought anticipates contemporary management theories. The study adopts a descriptive and analytical methodology and establishes that Tamil literature serves as an early and holistic guide to ethical and sustainable business management.
