Abstract

Periyapuranam is considered the twelfth of the twelve Thirumurais (sacred texts). Composed by Sekkizhar, it stands as a historical compendium recounting the lives of the sixty-three Nayanmars and the nine Thogaiyadiyars who lived in various regions. This article examines the women revered in the Saivite tradition. Specifically, this article explores the lives of Isaignaniyar, Karaikkal Ammaiyar, Mangaiyarkkarasiyar, and Thilakavathiyar using a descriptive research methodology.
