Puthiya Madhavi's novels are based on past political events, history, and feminism. These characteristics are present in all three novels, namely, Pachai Kudhirai, Sirakodintha Valasai, and Makfi. Pachai Kudhirai is written about the lives of women, the problems of menstruation and abortion faced by women. It also describes caste-based honor killing. It reveals the political events of Bombay Varadaraja Mudaliar and Dharavi. The novel Sirakodintha Valasai is written about the suffering of the people of Dharavi in the context of Corona. It indirectly explains the politics of the lower caste. The novel Makfi is based on feminist ideas, the historical background of the Saibunnisha-Shivaji meeting, and Bombay politics. It also indirectly reveals the killing of writers who question the government.
