Folk arts include all forms of visual arts created in the context of folk culture. However, definitions vary. Generally, objects have a practical use rather than being exclusively decorative. Creators of folk art are generally trained within the popular tradition rather than the fine art tradition of the culture. Folk arts are rooted in and reflect the cultural life of a community.
