Abstract

The epics of India, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, are deeply embedded in the minds and feelings of the Hindu people. They give strength to face the challenges of human life with maturity. They explain the path of devotion in a simple way. Among these, the Ramayana teaches the honesty of handling the challenges that arise in the life of an individual with patience and winning. It is known that this has spread not only to India but also to Southeast Asian countries and China. This article examines the spread of the Ramayana in Southeast Asia and some of the changes that have occurred in the Southeast Asian Ramayana from the original text.
