Abstract

"Even though various paths are followed in spirituality, the ultimate goal is God. It is the attachment to this body and the world that prevents a human from progressing towards the Divine. One who completely relinquishes these attachments will attain the bliss of liberation (Mukthi). In this regard, Manikkavasagar, who initially lived believing that seeking worldly life was the virtuous way, realized that his own attachments were the reason he could not continuously experience the divine vision he received at Thirupperunthurai. By removing those attachments through the grace of the Lord, he attained divine bliss and reached the state of salvation (Veeduperu)
