Abstract

In the contemporary social context, young people are increasingly exposed to feelings of conflict, hostility, anger, intolerance, and emotional instability due to rapid social changes, technological developments, academic pressure, unemployment concerns, and the influence of social media. Such negative emotions often lead to strained relationships, violence, revengeful attitudes, and social disharmony. In this regard, the Thirukkural, as a timeless ethical text and guide to human life, offers valuable principles for overcoming feelings of conflict and enmity among youth. This study examines the causes and consequences of conflict and hostility among youth from the ethical perspective of the Thirukkural and analyses the relevance of Thiruvalluvar's solutions in the modern world..
