Abstract

Abstract: In the modern world various races and thousands of societies consists if different types of people. The most  primitive of these  ethnic groups are tribal people. In ancient times, they used to build their own dwellings in the forests and mountains.  At present, due to the development of various civilizations,  they are living in settlements like other ethnic groups. Tribal people live in more than thirty districts of Tamil Nadu. Nilgiri district is one of them. The kothas, a tribe belonging to the Dravidan family, live in seven village as Kokal in their language. The Kothas are skilled in handicrafts and have the ability to make everything they need by themselves, one of them is the art of jewelry, so the method if making jewelry through field research in one of the villages where the Kothas live, the method of making jewelry in the area called Kothagiri Kokal, one of the villeges where the Kothas live, about some jewelry and the purpose of wearing it. This review  article examines about their jewels of the Kothas.
